Dear Sir/Madam
LETTER FOR VERIFICATION OF ACADEMIC REGISTER BOOK
It is with great pleasure and miss-feelings for me to write you this humble letter for verification of academic register book which has become a center of discussion among my colleagues student as to how possible the headmaster of our school can use our class three register book in class four with an intention that the same students will be promoted from stage “3” to stage “4” which needs your explanation.
Sir/ madam when I was in stage three we were 64 in our class and before we completed our Third Term academic year, only 55 out of 64 students were promoted that was after which examination was written to select the qualified student to the next stage of the academic year but out of 55 students who were promoted, only 52 students were able to make it to the class because one was sent to abroad by his parents, other person was reported died after malaria attack whilst one was also sent to a preparatory school because our school is “Sito” as I have some people use to call it.
Notwithstanding what I saw after we resume school since I was the class prefect in stage “3”, I used to bring our teacher’s register book, prepare the table for the teacher and sometimes, I conduct the students whenever the teacher is not in class and base on that fact, I learnt so many things about the register book because I also want to be a teacher.
Hon minister, In our first week after we resume school, the headmaster Mr Appiah Kentu AKA “Wobe Cheecki” came to the class with our stage Three register and asked for the class prefect which I stood up and hmm looking at the cane he was holding “Abaa Kofi” with his hand holding the middle of “Abaa Kofi” my fresh goose was like a dead chicken thinking of his track records in canning.
Mr Kentu: why didn’t you go for your stage three register for the teacher to mark your names meaning you don’t know what you to do right? Come forward.
Me: (with shaking body and sweat in a low tone) please no teacher has come and I don’t know our new register book since we are in another stage please.
Mr Kentu: So you are telling me I don’t know what to do rather erh, don’t you know we are using the stage 3 register book in stage four?
At this point hon. The whole class shouted as if the question went for all of them “ Noooo!!!! We don’t know” in a fantastic accolade. That day we received three canes each from “Wobe Cheecki” after the cane, it became an argument among the students in the class and even some of the teachers who came to hear our sorrow.
With this, I am writing for clarification from your ministry if the headmaster is right for what he did or vice versa because I am much perturbed for what the master did to the whole class since it is causing the whole class a psychological trauma.
Hon Minister, I will therefore end my letter here and I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.
Yours Student

Looking at the letter written above, it is not contrary to what is going in this country so far as our voter register is concerned and the alarm is such that, it is impugning the credibility of the only book that confirms our true democracy with much security threat to our democratic dispensation.Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo says the party’s call for the creation of a new voters’ register is not to yield electoral gains for it.
In a statement copied to, Nana Addo said the purpose of the call for a change in the electoral roll is to fortify the country’s democracy. The NPP flag bearer recounted how, since 1992, the NPP has been the only party that has been the lead instigator of electoral reforms in Ghana.
The introduction of transparent ballot boxes, photo voters’ ID card, and a bio metric voter register in 2012, he said, have all been at the behest of the NPP. The NDC, on the contrary, have always been opposed to any form of electoral reforms.
Meanwhile, The first vice chair of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has stated that the opposition New Patriotic Party has an “agenda” behind their persistent call for a new voters register for the 2016 elections. According to him, the desperate approach the NPP is resorting to in pushing for the change is worrying.
But how can a country we need peace and have could go to such extent to discuss peace with blame games and it will be very shameful if the the international world relies the hoola balloon on this voter register because if one does not understand there is no way the understanding will be easy in the 2016 election.
As the game goes on The NPP has petitioned Nigerian President Muhamadu Buhari, Togolese President Faure Gnasinngbe and German leader Angela Merkel to convince the EC to use a new voters’ register for the 2016 elections. It comes ahead of the September 22 deadline given by the EC for the various parties to state their positions on the raging controversy. A situation the deputy general secretary of the party Nana Obri Boahen has justified that there is nothing wrong with the move adding that it is in the right direction.
We cant leave in fear before, during and after election, we run out from the country. I will appeal to the electoral commissioner as a matter of fact take a second look of the voter register and have a logical agreement to keep our peace restore because if we can never use stage three register book in stage four, then I pray the government, the national peace council to make sure the country do the right thing at the right time.
