Lots of Ghanaians were very surprised when Deborah Vanessa confirmed that she’s drunk in love with AMG’s Medikal and both of them are even dating. ]

To many, Medikal is just 24 years and Deborah Vanessa is 32.

Medikal in an interview with Hitz FM has asked Ghanaians to stop saying Sister Derbie was the one who approached him. According to him, he started the whole thing and not Derbie.

“Well, I’ve also heard lots of people saying that she approached me and all those stories, but I can tell you Deborah Vanessa didn’t approach me, I did the move myself. Here in Ghana, you know men do the proposing thing so people should get it straight that I did the move myself and not her.”

Medikal also disclosed that his Confirm remix will feature rap king, Sarkodie and will be released in October.

The Member of Parliament for Assin Central has hit hard at critics questioning the feasibility of the one-village, one-dam policy in Northern Ghana by leader of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo.

In his view, those doubting the viability especially ministers in the Mahama-led government of the policy are “myopic thinkers” not fit to be in government.

The policy announced by the NPP leader whilst addressing the Bolgatanga Traditional Council in the Upper East Region has been scrutinised questioning the practicality of the policy.

Nana Akufo-Addo said if voted into office in December, his government would implement a policy to sink a dam in every village in the three northern regions - Northern, three East and Upper West regions - as part of its measures to enhance agricultural productivity in the Savanna regions.

Critics who doubt its feasibility said it is simply too expensive and impracticable to build a dam in every village.

But speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday, Ken Agyapong said, he is not surprised at the doubting Thomas’s in the NDC

Rather, he noted that, their conduct rather exposes them as not being “great thinkers” which explains why Ghana is wallowing in abject poverty.

“We don’t need these myopic thinkers in the country but I’m not surprised, if you have ministers who are bereft of ideas, this is what happens” he stressed.

The outspoken MP said government can partner with private sector, support them with the fund to build the dams.

Ken Agyapong said the policy is more than possible and an Akufo-Addo led government will make it a reality if voted to power in the December 7 general elections.

The Ashanti, Eastern, Brong Ahafo, Upper East and Upper West Regional Executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) have defended their National President, Affail Monney following allegations that he unilaterally picked investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas as the Best Journalist of the Year 2015. The Western and Central Regional branches of the GJA on Tuesday accused Affail Monney of acts which they say are inimical to the progress of the Association.

They claimed Anas had not applied for the coveted award and his name had also not come up as one of the persons to be given the award. But the four regional GJA executives say the position of their counterparts in the Western and Central Regions should be condemned by all. Speaking to Citi News the Brong Ahafo Regional President of the GJA, Larry Paa Kwesi Moses said they stand by their President. “They are accusing the president that he unilaterally took a decision and awarded Anas the journalist of the year which is not true. When it comes to the awarding of the journalist of the year, what happens is that it is the sole prerogative of the national executives, the regional executives don’t have hand in that and it binds on us.” “It is not the selection committee that determines who becomes the best journalist of the year. The best journalist and the best promising journalist is a sole prerogative of the national executives, they can go out of the nomination and pick somebody to become the national journalist of the year,” he added.

Anas’ award celebrates unethical journalism – Dery Lawyer for dismissed High Court Judge, Justice Paul Uter Dery, told Citi News his client will soon take an action against the GJA, for presenting Anas and award for his work on the judiciary which implicated Justice Dery and over thirty others in a massive bribery and corruption piece. The lawyer, Nii Kpakpo Addo, told Citi News the award rather celebrates unethical journalism. Below is the full statement from the four GJA regional executives EASTERN, BRONG AHAFO,UPPER EAST, UPPER WEST AND ASHANTI REGIONAL GJA CONDEMNS COLLEAGUES IN WESTERN AND CENTRAL REGION OVER ATTACK ON 21STGJA AWARDS We members of the Ghana Journalists Association in the Eastern, Brong Ahafo. Ashanti, Upper East, Upper West and the Northern Region wish to call our colleagues in the Western and Central region to order and plead with them to allow sanity and decorum prevail in the GJA.

We wish to state that, even though the GJA is an Association and as such every member can express his views freely, our colleagues must exhibit maturity when touching on matters that affect the credibility of the Association and its flagship event. It is interesting to note that in the last but one paragraph of the statement issued by our colleagues in the Western and Central regions, they quoted a Nigerian proverb that says, ‘ in the moment of crisis, the wise build bridges and the foolish build dams.’ We want to question whether their single action of venting their concern in the public sphere was to build bridges or build dams in their perceived crisis situation. It is worth indicating here that, the regional executives of the Western and Central regions were part of an Emergency Meeting held a day before the 21st awards night but didn’t raise any of the issues raised in their statement during the meeting. The attitude of colleague journalists throwing mud at leadership of the Association every year after the flagship event to award hard working journalists in the country must cease.

We the undersigned regional executives want to state that: 1. The Journalist of the year award goes to the journalist whose work made an exceptional impact and caused change in society 2. That Anas Aremeyaw Anas’s investigation in the judiciary made a greater impact in the judiciary and influence a total cleansing leading to the dismissal of some judges from the judiciary. 3. That, it is not automatic that the journalist who win more awards become the journalist of the year. 4. We wish to reiterate that Anas did not breach any code of ethics of the GJA in his judicial corruption expose’. Signed: Maxwell Kudekor, Eastern Regional Secretary

There is heated tension between the Manyhia Palace and the Presidency, after news emerged that President Dramani Mahama, has impregnated the daughter of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Impeccable sources at Manyhia have told the Catalyst that Ohema who, on 7th May 2016, tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, Akwasi, returned from her honeymoon a few months pregnant.

Akwasi is said to have confronted Ohema, who dropped the bombshell that President Mahama was responsible for the pregnancy. She revealed that the pair had been involved in an affair, which led to the pregnancy. The marriage is said to have hit the rocks, with Ohema and Akwasi’s 3-month marriage all but over. Akwasi, who was said to be in tears, relayed the information to Otumfuo, in the aftermath of the honeymoon, and told the Asantehene that he could no longer continue with the marriage.

This development has infuriated the Asantehene, who is is said to be livid and furious with President Mahama, and has cut ties with the Mahama family. Sources indicate that President Mahama initially tried to get his brother, Ibrahim, to take ownership of the pregnancy, but this fell flat after Ohema indicated to his father, the Asantehene that President Mahama was responsible for the pregnancy.

Efforts by high ranking members of the National Democratic Congress and the Mahama family to plead on behalf of President Mahama have proved futile, as the Asantehene feels “used” and betrayed by President Mahama.

“The Asantehene is angry. He treated John like his son and cannot believe he will go behind him to have an affair with his daughter, who was preparing to get married, and impregnate her. This is a slap in the face of Otumfuo, and has brought disgrace to Manhyia,” a source at Manhyia told the paper.

Ohema, the source adds, has been relocated to Accra by Ibrahim Mahama, with the E&P man having purchased a million-dollar mansion for her, and is prepared to resettle her out of Accra to deliver her baby. First lady, Lordina Mahama, who has heard the news has moved out of her matrimonial home in protest at the numerous scandals and children fathered by President Mahama, out of wedlock.

Lordina was only seen at the NDC’s campaign launch in Cape Coast to save the President’s face, as her absence would have caused irreparable damage to the fortunes of President Mahama. President Mahama, who is currently is Kenya, attending the 6th Tokyo International Conference on African Development, went without Lordina, who is still out of the matrimonial home. More Anon

Popular songstress, Becca has denied kissing fellow musician Bisa Kdei on the lips in a circulating video on social media and some news platforms.

The video shows the two hugging closely in a dark environment, but the songstress has denied kissing the reigning highlife Artiste of the year on the lips, as being suspected in the video, where the two were closely seen together.

The ‘African Woman’ hitmaker speaking to DJ Reuben on Drive Time on Luv FM advised people who doubt her to brighten the video for the truth.

“I keep asking people that did they see me kissing him in the video, I have never kissed him in my life. I hadn’t seen Bisa in my life, I hadn’t seen Bisa for eight months and actually that they everybody else if you look in that video was around," she explained.

It is being rumored the two are in a love affair, with social media flooded with photographs of the two together at public events, with some publications claiming the two are secretly married.

The two have denied being lovers with Becca insisting “Bisa is my brother; I mean a brother and everyone around us know that…I love him as a brother and he also loves me as a sister.”

But Becca stirred another controversy when she confessed kissing the ‘Mansa’ hitmaker on the cheeks.

"We were actually shooting a video…you will see I saw him and kissed him on the cheeks,” she confessed.

Meanwhile, Becca is asking journalists to do further checks on the controversial video to ascertain the truth.

“If I was any journalist I will go and take it and lighten it up, brighten the picture to see but nobody seems to be doing that, then I realized that nobody seems to be interested. I actually told the people why you don’t brighten the video to see”, she said.

Followers of the controversial Founder of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim are alleging that sick persons brought to his church for him to heal are dying in the wake of his arrest.

According to the hundreds of his church members who massed up at the Nima Police Station in Accra demanding the release of their Founder, two sick people have already died in church on Tuesday while several others are on the verge of death as the man of God is not around to heal them.

Bishop Obinim who’s known to have healing powers and has done a lot of miracles albeit sometimes described as fake by a section of the public, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly defrauding a gold dealer to the sum of GHS11.6million and was detained over night in the Police cells after being transferred from Tema to the Accra Police headquarters for questioning.

He’s being charged for defrauding under false pretense.

Meanwhile, Bishop Obinim has said he knows nothing about the alleged GHS11.6 million gold fraud.

Lawyer for Obinim, Samuel Atta Akyea told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM Wednesday in an interview that his client had denied defrauding the complainant in question by false pretense as being alleged.

But supporters of Bishop Obinim whom stayed at the Nima Police Station all night and have vowed to remain there until their spiritual father is released have said the country will record the death of several sick persons if Bishop Obinim is not discharged.

“The arrest of Obinim is born out of jealousy… this pure hatred against him just because he’s being used mightily by God to perform wonders in Ghana. Just yesterday two sick people brought to church to be healed died because Bishop Obinim has been arrested. Several sick people will die if he’s not released immediately,” the members said.

The founder and leader of the Heavens Gate Ministry, Nicholas Osei, known as Kumchacha and several other Prophets in the country have stormed the police headquarters in Accra.

The men of God, according to Kumchacha are going to the location to sympathise with their colleague Pastor, Bishop Daniel Obinim who has been arrested and sent there for defrauding under false pretence.

Bishop Obinim on Tuesday afternoon responded to an invitation by the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU).

This follows a complaint of assault filed by the Minister of Gender and Social Protection to the Tema DOVVSU after video of Bishop Obinim whipping teenage members of his church for fornicating went viral.

Police in Tema gave the ‘Angel of God’ 24 hour ultimatum to honour their invitation or they will be forced to take action against him.

An aide to the Bishop responded that the man of God respected the laws of the land and hence would respond to their invitation at the appropriate time.

Obinim upon arriving at the Tema Regional Police Headquarters visited the regional commander. He later went into the offices of DOVVSU and had a meeting with them.

Later, the man of God and one of his junior Pastors described as an accomplice was ushered out of the meeting in handcuffs.

They were then escorted to an awaiting Pick Up and transferred to Accra CID where the case has been transferred.

However, Prophet Kumchacha who claims to have the gift of intercession said on Adom FM’s Evening News Tuesday that, he and the other men of God were on their way to the Police Headquarters to sympathise with their colleague pastor who is in trouble.

“Kumchacha is known to be someone who has been fighting for and defending men of God in Ghana accused of various wrongdoings…God has given me the gift of intercession and I always intercede for men of God and Christians who go into trouble…we are on our way to the place,” he said.

Kumchacha said that he would not go into the merits or otherwise of the flogging. CC: Ghnews360.com

One week later and finally we are getting some news in relation to Castro’s missing body. But if it is processed to a logical conclusion, all the dramatics surrounding Castro the Destroyer and Janet Bandu’s disappearance will finally cease.

On Saturday, fishermen found an adult male body along the Sakumono Beach. The body was in a state of decomposition with some of the skin peeling off. The body which is 1.7 metres tall has since been handed over to the police. Although much speculation has already gone round suggesting that the body belongs to Theophilus Tagoe, Castro, the police insist we should all wait for a proper autopsy report since the state of the body does not permit easy identification.

Daily Guide reported that it was found at Mighty Beach and has been taken to the Korle-bu teaching hospital by some police personnel and Marine police.

The police are still processing the situation and are checking other missing person report. Also given that the body had been in the water for awhile, it cannot be identified without a DNA test but they say it is definitely that of n adult male in his early thirties.

Family members of Castro as well as other missing persons will be contacted shortly to make sure the right person is identified.

Could it be that, Castro is really behind the account? Let's have your views below.

Ghanaian songstress Becca has revealed that she is in a relationship with a man who understands and accepts her for who she is.

It has been widely speculated in the past weeks by a section of the media that Becca and hi-life artiste Bisa Kdei are in love and secretly engaged.

The two have been seen together at different places and released a remix of ‘Hwe’ which intensively fuelled the rumour.

But speaking on 3FM’s Urban Blend hosted by Miriam Agyemang, Becca revealed that she has been seeing someone for some time and it is definitely not Bisa Kdei “I am seeing someone and it’s definitely not Bisa Kdei and he knows that and the closest people around me know it.

“He is just a business person and does his own personal stuff and he is very private too.”

She described her lover as calm and a down-to-earth person who understands her and accepts her for who she is and said he is exactly the kind of person she needed.

“I needed somebody who understands what I do and accepts me the way I am and knows that there is going to be one or two rumours and still gets that fact that at the end of the day, he knows who he’s dealing with.

“If you don’t have someone like that in the business we do, it’s always going to be hard to even be in a relationship,” she said.

Becca also revealed that most celebrities end up being lonely because they find it difficult to trust people they meet. She explained: “I think you could be lonely which is very possible because you get to certain [level] in your life where there is very little trust so you tend to just crawl into your own shell because you don’t know the person”.

Musician/Rapper, Mzbel is no stranger to controversies and for the past few days she has come under a barrage of attacks on social media for supposedly endorsing the candidature of President  John Dramani Mahama.

She has been tagged a supporter of the ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC) but the Awoso Me hitmaker has denied that in a chat with Showbiz on Tuesday.“I’m not a member of the NDC and I don’t remember saying anywhere that I am,” Mzbel said.

Narrating the story on how she came to be tagged as a member of the ruling NDC party, the mother of one said she was asked in a radio interview of her opinion of the performance of both the NPP and NDC governments and only passed her judgment based on the developmental projects carried out by both governments.

According to her, she was convinced the ruling government has performed better based on the evidence of the many projects they have undertaken in the country on the assumption of office. “Am I not a citizen of this country to state my opinion on issues concerning this country?

"I don’t know why people would attack my personality and even extend the derogatory insults to my family just because I expressed my candid opinion."

“Besides, no one has officially contacted me to campaign for him/her so what’s the point in tagging me NDC.

“I think my critics are rather using my name and brand to campaign for the NDC party since I have never said anywhere that I belong to any particular party,” she said.

But a part of a press statement she released on Monday, the Saucy Girl artiste who has been embroiled in many controversies in the past said, “ It is a shame to see people insult, ridicule and attack my personality just because I was bold enough to voice out my political opinion to endorse H.E. President John Dramani Mahama”.

When Showbiz drew her attention to the above statement, the outspoken artiste had this to say. “ I support Mahama because of the development I have seen during his tenure but that doesn’t make me NDC”.

Probably having had enough of the “negative vibes”, Mzbel asked crusaders for peaceful elections to  channel their energies to educate people on the need to be tolerant of the views of their political opponents.

“This is how election violence and chaos starts. That is, our inability to accept that we can’t all be on the same side of the political divide. They would take the least opportunity to denigrate your personality.

Tolerance is very key in having peaceful elections because if you attack a person, the supporters will definitely come after you and this is how violence begins.

“Whiles preaching peace, let’s encourage the electorate to accept different political opinions."

“Besides, the most important thing to do to win votes is to sell your party and candidate and not attack people because they don’t support your choice. That isn’t right,” the Legelege artiste added.

When Mzbel’s friendship with Afia Schwarzenegger hit the rocks, a lot of eyebrows were raised and questions were asked.

Reason was that, these two used to be the best of friends, referred to each other as soul sisters and were almost all the time seen together.

One of the questions asked by many was that, did boyfriend snatching play a role in the break up and if so who took who’s away.

But Mzbel in an interview with Sokoo Hema on ATV declined anything like that.

“I did not snatch Afia’s boyfriend neither did she,” she said when asked.

Commenting if they will ever come together again, she said; “I cannot say that for now. I believe God has a reason for bringing people into our lives and he alone knows why they leave but in all we give thanks to him.”

BBnZ Live label frontman, E.L, can't take the criticisms anymore, thus, he has dropped a new diss song "Body Bags" to reply people criticising him especially Ga rapper, Tinny.

Tinny, in an interview on e.TV Ghana's "The Late night Celebrity Show" expressed his shock over how E.L run away from the Sarkodie's diss song which was targeted at him.
"When are you bringing Berla home? Oh please..oh I beg. that song dierr. EL shocked me. He was talking about his mummy, mummy!! Mummy said I should…," Tinny said in response to E.L's song "Love God" which he released during the heated beef between Sarkodie and M.anifest.

Reacting to this, E.L dropped "Body Bags" yesterday, July 26 to attack Tinny.

In "Body Bags", E.L said he used to look up to Tinny, but now he’s losing his respect, asking him to “let a nigga shine”. He jabbed him for turning his allies against him. "Why N*ggas wanna f*ck up the Franchise… Turning my allies against me, I swear I’m gonn’ bring out my best side," E.L spits.
He also asked Tinny what he knows about punchlines, telling him to quit criticizing and rather produce hits.

This year’s general election is just around the corner so few entertainers who want their voices to be heard have started commenting on political issues.

John Dumelo, Tracey Boakye, Mzbel, Sarkodie and few other entertainers have in one way or the other shared their thoughts on the economy of the country. Whilst some strongly believe that the current government has ruled the country well so it deserves another term, others think otherwise.

Rapper Guru has broken his silence on the current state of the economy joining his colleagues who have already passed their judgement on the president’s efforts to develop the country for the past four years

The musician made his two cents about the efforts of government officials to develop the nation in a new song he calls “My Take”.

Guru in the Tubani produced single said the International Monetary Fund is not willing to lend money to Ghana again due the poor state of the economy.

He rebuked leaders of the nation for “not thinking outside the box”.

“You don’t think outside the box. The land does not have a problem; the leaders have made the nation hot. Africa is blessed but our leaders have made the country dull” Guru opined in the song.

He later advised the president to solve the internal wrangles in his party else he will lose this year’s general election.

“If you don’t solve your issues at home, Mr. President, this year you will lose” Guru told Mahama

Ghanaian actor John Dumelo appears to have got himself involved in another scandal involving an Australian girl. Reportghananews.com doesn’t have all the fact about this issue so we have decided to be on the side of John Dumelo until the truth comes out. Ghanaian needs to learn to support their own. We are quick at denigrating our celebrities without proper facts and prove.

Award-winning Ghanaian journalist- Anas Aremeyaw Anas recently posted a comment on his Facebook wall indicating his knowledge about the whole issue and said he was ready to release some secret audio recording if John Dumelo doesn’t deal with the issue in two weeks.
